Regional General Manager – Vaccines Southeast

Location: Morristown, NJ

Job Summary: Leads commercial performance of the region across the full Sanofi Vaccines portfolio, managing buy and bill execution, complex customer engagement, and integrated business planning. Works as a strategic enterprise leader within integrated brand teams and influences national strategy and resource allocation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Influence
    • Accountable member of integrated brand teams, shaping brand strategy, portfolio prioritization, and go‑to‑market execution.
    • Influence national strategy through participation in cross‑functional forums (Marketing, Market Access, Sales Operations, Commercial Excellence, GTMC).
    • Develop and launch national and regional go‑to‑market assessments; design pilots to capitalize on market growth opportunities.
  • Business Planning, Forecasting & Resource Allocation
    • Develop regional business plans and forecasts to influence national budget and performance.
    • Translate strategy into regionally differentiated execution plans with performance targets by product, customer segment, and contracting modality.
    • Lead formal business reviews with senior leadership, delivering data‑driven insights and strategic recommendations.
    • Oversee financial accountability, including revenue maximization, budget management, and resource optimization.
  • Complex Portfolio & Market Management
    • Own the full buy and bill experience, managing distribution, administration, reimbursement, and contracting.
    • Execute account‑management approach across a diverse customer landscape (Health Systems, Birthing Hospitals, Medical Groups & Multi‑Discipline Groups, FQHCs, Independent Practices).
    • Lead readiness and execution for new product launches and expand competitive footprint.
  • Matrix Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Provide enterprise‑level cross‑functional leadership across Marketing, Market Access, Sales Training & Development, Sales Operations & Analytics, Commercial Excellence, and other strategic partners.
    • Define, activate, and enhance the commercial matrix at national and regional scope.
    • Support teams in navigating complex contracting and pricing frameworks.
    • Collaborate with customer‑facing teams to prioritize account needs and identify partnership opportunities.
    • Partner with Commercial Excellence to refine sales processes and foster a culture of performance and innovation.
  • People Leadership & Organizational Development
    • Maintain a high‑performing regional team through recruiting, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and development.
    • Build and sustain a culture of excellence, accountability, inclusion, and continuous growth.
    • Coach Area Business Managers and Directors to capitalize on business opportunities and grow as commercial leaders.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 15+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
  • 7+ years of regional or equivalent senior‑level people management experience (including 2nd line leadership).
  • Prior experience in a Home Office / Headquarters role or significant enterprise commercial leadership (e.g., Market Access, Commercial Strategy, Sales Operations).
  • Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding business targets in complex, multi‑product environments.
  • Enterprise mindset to operate strategically across the commercial ecosystem.
  • Strong influence across matrixed, cross‑functional organizations at a senior level.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and people‑development capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence senior leaders internally and externally.
  • Advanced analytical and strategic thinking; ability to synthesize complex data and develop long‑term solutions.
  • Compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures.
  • Alignment with Sanofi’s core values and Take The Lead behaviors (Aim Higher, Act for Patients, Be Bold, Lead Together).
  • Regular regional travel, including frequent overnight and weekend trips.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or advanced degree.
