In this role of Supervisor Project Controls, you will lead the controls that power some of Enbridge’s most critical capital projects. You will play a pivotal role in driving project success by overseeing cost, schedule, forecasting, reporting, and performance across major infrastructure programs. Working alongside talented project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you’ll provide strategic leadership, mentor a high‑performing team of Project Controls professionals, and deliver the insights and discipline needed to keep projects safe, on track, and on budget.
Responsibilities- Responsible for project performance analysis and reporting for a portfolio of Major Projects.
- Track project controls performance to ensure updates to spend profile, forecast, and schedule updates are complete, accurate and timely.
- Proactively identify potential cost and schedule overruns and work with the project team to implement appropriate mitigation plans.
- Ensure accurate cost and schedule integration to track earned value, and that work orders and purchase orders are tracked and closed.
- Ensure each project has appropriate tracking and reporting tools according to the master Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and specific codes used for the project scope.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership and technical guidance to a team of cost and schedule professionals to develop, progress, analyze and report project cost and schedule performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Hire, onboard, lead, coach and mentor direct‑report personnel to Enbridge specifications, processes, procedures, practices, tools, and standard methodologies and organizational change.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of work experience.
- Progressive industrial project experience in a Total Project Delivery environment, including collaboration across project development, engineering, procurement, construction, project accounting, contracting, execution and commissioning phases.
- Experience in project controls, contract administration and construction management within the North American oil and gas industry.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills with a proven track record of leading independently or coordinating work with diverse groups and individual personnel.
- Exceptional execution planning, work management, problem solving, decision making and negotiating skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Oracle, Primavera P6 and Eco Sys.
Office environment with occasional travel (~10%) to other Enbridge offices and sites. Ability to travel and work throughout Canada and the United States and a valid passport is required. Physical requirements include grasping, kneeling, light‑to‑moderate lifting (up to 20lb), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual and hearing requirements, and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods.
Mental requirements include understanding and applying instructions, solving complex problems, organizing thoughts, prioritizing work, making moderate‑impact decisions, and communicating with individuals via telephone.
