As a Project Manager II, you will manage projects of moderate visibility and complexity, either overseeing multiple projects or one larger project. Under the supervision of a portfolio or program manager, you will ensure the successful completion of projects by assembling teams, assigning responsibilities, and managing resources.
Responsibilities- Manage multiple projects or a larger project, overseeing all phases from proposal development to project closeout.
- Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, and identify appropriate resources.
- Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Interface with internal and external customers or field‑based employees on technical matters as needed.
- Communicate project status with senior project managers, functional area managers, or program managers.
- Track progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators.
- Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
- Ensure timely completion of projects by developing and adhering to schedules.
- Remain agile and flexible to adapt to frequent changes in project requirements or scope.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in project management and/or a related or technical field. If lacking a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Demonstrated experience managing a complex project with a multi‑function team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong analytical, leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Hands‑on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience with large‑scale supplier management.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience managing projects requiring Earned Value Management.
- Experience with risk management planning and documentation.
- Experience managing project scope and scope creep during execution.
- Experience in resource planning and management during project execution.
- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and CMMI process standards.
- Familiarity with government contracting and regulations.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Capacity to work in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote work.
