The Senior Director, Global Microbiology & Sanitation will report to the VP, Global Quality & Food Safety.The role will ideally be based at McCormick's global headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland and will be eligible to participate in our 50/50 hybrid program (50% onsite and 50% remote per month).

McCormick may consider remote work on a case by case basis for the ideal candidate.

Reporting to the VP, Global Quality and Food Safety, the Senior Director, Global Microbiology and Sanitation provides strategic leadership and decision-making for the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of key Quality and Food Safety standards and the associated governance for microbiology, sanitation standards and practices and hygienic design standards. The incumbent is the person accountable for the development and implementation of Quality and Food Safety initiatives related to microbiology spanning total Supply Chain, product development, and laboratory integrity across the enterprise.

The incumbent will deliver microbiological performance excellence in McCormick’s operating units through strategic leadership of regionally deployed resources. By leveraging a proven track record in global transformational leadership, strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills, and an ability to influence, direct, develop, and inspire employees at all levels in the McCormick business, the incumbent will develop and implement complex functional and business strategies and programs in all regions globally and across many diverse cultures.

This will be done through skilled leadership, with emphasis on the management and the development of a team of direct reports and others.

• Develop strategic plan to transform technical and operating framework to drive Microbiological and Sanitation risk reduction, leading levels of brand protection and to enable fundamental changes in practice to enable business growth.
• Communicate and gain alignment to the transformational plan at most senior levels of MKC globally, in each region and cross-functionally.
• Motivate and develop employees to embrace and drive execution of the strategic plan of a multi-year timeframe.
• Inspire leadership of globally dispersed team of microbiology and sanitation resources with full accountability to drive advancement of microbiological sciences, sanitation practices, customer-focused growth-supporting strategic transformation and the execution of all programs in all regions of MKC – in labs, in factories and elsewhere as required.
