Job Description
Financial Management Services (FMS) is transforming how the Stanford community learns to navigate financial systems, policies, and processes. In direct support of the university's Simplify Stanford initiative, the Financial Learning Solutions (Fin Learning) team is building a role-based, technology-enabled learning ecosystem that meets people at the point of need and reduces the friction of administrative work.
Work ArrangementThis is a 100% FTE, benefits-eligible hybrid position. A remote work arrangement may be considered for candidates with the appropriate background and experience, depending on business needs of each unit. Remote workers’ schedules are based in the Pacific Time zone.
Budgeted Salary RangeThe expected pay range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000 per annum based on the geographical location of the candidate.
Core Responsibilities- Manage, recruit, coach, and develop staff and departmental budget. Develop and maintain a resource plan aligned to Fin Learning strategy and operational needs, including hiring and onboarding, resource allocation, staff development, and performance management for a team of senior learning experience designers.
- Serve as a thought leader guiding the Fin Learning ecosystem's evolution, integrating a modern learning management system, digital adoption platforms, and AI-assisted tools into a cohesive, role-based learning experience organized around core user personas and high-value tasks.
- Own learning management system (LMS) strategy and administration, including platform evaluation, migration, and content governance. Provide production and post-production oversight for developing LMS-compliant, accessible courses, including LMS setup, testing, and migration to the production environment, and ensuring that prerequisite learning tied to system-access provisioning is configured correctly.
- Provide product management for Fin Learning’s ecosystem of learning resources, defining business and functional requirements, curating content, overseeing user acceptance testing, and driving enhancements based on usage data and stakeholder feedback.
- Evaluate requests for technology-based learning projects, meeting with stakeholders to understand goals, timelines, and dependencies. Assess pedagogical goals against available technology tools to recommend the appropriate modality (e.g., instructor-led, eLearning, video tutorials, web pages and quick-reference guides, in-application guidance, and AI-assisted support), and allocate the necessary team capacity to the work.
- Partner with subject matter experts on technology-based learning projects from conception through design, production, and completion, planning and coordinating work to defined deadlines and organizing it into manageable planning cycles for resource allocation and stakeholder communication. Maintain strategic relationships with FMS business owners and apply influence as needed to ensure development plans align with business needs.
- Oversee the appropriateness, effectiveness, and success of departmental instructional design projects and the Fin Learning product ecosystem. Direct the creation of qualitative and quantitative measurement tools and methods, and build and maintain an operations dashboard that reports key metrics, demonstrates impact, and drives continuous enhancement.
- Establish and maintain standards for online and instructor-led course development, participant and instructor materials, learning evaluations, and support request resolutions, ensuring instructional design and publishing protocols are consistently followed.
- Manage key vendor and contract relationships, including development contractors and platform vendors, and support procurement and budgeting needs.
- Develop learning plans based on change management assessments. Represent Fin Learning in the FMS change management (CM) portfolio meetings, and act as the Learning Lead on projects with significant learning deliverables.
