Who We Are

About Us:

We are currently seeking a project manager with experience in undergraduate education initiatives and a basic knowledge of sponsored funds management. The position is term-limited for 22 months (Sept 1, 2026 - June 30, 2028) and hybrid with both on-site and remote work.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting projects related to the Sloan Equity and Inclusion in STEM Introductory Courses (SEISMIC) collaboration (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). ). SEISMIC recently launched a Phase Two effort with the overall goal of promoting the greater adoption of equity-oriented assessment practices in large introductory STEM courses across a range of institutions and departments. A key effort of SEISMIC Phase Two is supporting project teams in piloting revised assessments in STEM courses across the collaboration and evaluating their efficacy.

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating project teams and leadership, documenting and reporting on SEISMIC activity, developing materials for teams, leading event planning at U-M and supporting SEISMIC events at partner campuses, managing collaboration-wide communications, facilitating U-M participant engagement with SEISMIC activity, and managing daily operations for the collaboration.

Responsibilities*

Support Project Teams and Leadership (40%)

  • Develop detailed project plans and timelines to track progress, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Provide project management support to participants across disciplines, institutional roles, and institutions, including following up on tasks, setting deadlines, maintaining project documentation, scheduling meetings, and providing facilitation and/or note taking services to teams
  • Complete Literature Reviews and collect resources for teams
  • Develop materials to support team progress
  • Coordinate SEISMIC activity with institutional representatives
  • Support the program leads with identifying and applying for grant funding and conference opportunities
  • Perform general organizational tasks and provide administrative support as needed
  • Ensure the equal and fair representation of diverse voices within all projects
  • Communicate and collaborate with project leads, including preparing and delivering project updates and progress reports for the teams

Documentation & Communication (30%)

  • Plan and implement collaboration-wide communications
  • Lead the ongoing development of the SEISMIC website, ensuring it serves as a vital resource for the target community
  • Design and manage key communications materials (newsletters, websites, slide decks, flyers, and blog posts) to promote project initiatives and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Act as a point person for project-related queries and issues
  • Maintain documentation for participant engagement in SEISMIC activities
  • Present on the project initiatives to various audiences

Events (30%)

  • Lead event planning, including coordinating travel booking, catering, room reservations, and developing event materials. Events can be on U-M campus or at other SEISMIC universities.
  • Lead the planning committee and be responsible for the implementation of the 2028 STEM Structural Change Conference
  • Coordinate with partner institutions to advertise a collaboration-wide hybrid speaker series

Desired Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM, education, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in undergraduate education student success initiatives
  • Experience working with faculty initiatives or workshop curriculum development
  • Experience editing Word Press websites
  • Graphic design skills
