Full-Time | Salaried | Exempt About the Opportunity Chateau Retirement Communities is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and experienced leader to serve as our Director of Facilities & Maintenance. This position provides functional leadership for facilities and maintenance operations across all Chateau communities, ensuring our buildings remain safe, well-maintained, compliant, and welcoming for our residents and team members.
This role is responsible for developing long-term facilities strategies while also supporting day-to-day operational excellence. Working closely with Executive Directors, Maintenance Directors, and our VP of Construction & Capital Projects, the Director will help standardize maintenance practices, improve operational efficiency, oversee capital planning, and ensure our communities continue to reflect Chateau's commitment to excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who enjoys balancing strategic planning with hands-on operational support and building strong relationships across multiple communities.
Primary Responsibilities Provide functional leadership and support for Maintenance and Environmental Services teams across all Chateau communities.
Develop and execute long-term facilities and asset management strategies.
Lead preventative maintenance programs and standardize maintenance processes.
Oversee facility compliance with federal, state, local, and life safety regulations.
Partner with Executive Directors to develop annual operating and capital budgets.
Manage capital improvement planning and collaborate on major construction projects.
Implement and oversee maintenance management systems (Yardi/CMMS).Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and facility reporting dashboards.
Lead vendor management, contract oversight, and cost-saving initiatives.
Build, coach, and develop maintenance leaders while promoting a culture of service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Respond to operational issues and provide leadership during facility-related emergencies.
Qualifications Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Experience Seven (7) or more years of progressive facilities or maintenance leadership experience.
Multi-site facilities management experience preferred.
Experience managing operating and capital budgets.
Experience leading teams and implementing standardized maintenance processes.
Senior living, healthcare, hospitality, commercial real estate, or similar industry experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $125,000 – $170,000 annually

Working Conditions Regular travel between Chateau communities is required.
