Job Description:
Job Description The Security Shift Lead will have responsibility in maintaining the high standards established around the safety and security of the corporate campus. You will lead, train, and develop a team of individuals, identifying strengths and opportunities to support personal growth and success to achieve departmental goals and objectives. This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
Will You Be Doing?
- Leadership of a team of security associates to include the training, and development of a highly visible team with a strategic emphasis on customer centricity.
- Effectively executes security measures, policies, and procedures applicable to area of responsibility and makes recommendations that drive operational efficiencies.
- Oversees team’s day-to-day operations and guides completion of assigned tasks, audits, inspections, and team response to incidents and emergencies.
- Supports department training initiatives and conducts associate training as assigned and according to opportunities identified, with an emphasis on developing a well-rounded team.
- New associate training
- Team familiarity with department equipment and responsibilities
- Tabletop training exercises
- Emergency response drills
- Assigns inspections to team members.
- Verifies completion of inspections.
- Escalates reported issues for follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Operations:
Action on security measures, policies, and procedures. - Support team training to ensure growth and effectiveness and partner with department supervisors to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Emergency Preparedness:
Support in the execution of operational plans for preparedness, crisis response, and recovery. - Compliance and Auditing:
Carry out self-inspection programs to ensure compliance with local ordinances and corporate policies. - Team Growth:
Provide feedback, training, and coaching to team members to support their continual growth and development.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in security or similar military/law enforcement role.
- Proven ability to lead and support the development of a successful team built upon motivation, recognition, collaboration, communication, and engagement with others.
- Effective communication skills, with evidence to reflect the ability to build and maintain strong, productive relationships that influences and motivates others.
- Experienced in applying security policy and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
- Successful completion of criminal background investigation and department training program.
- Must be able to quickly respond, on foot, to locations throughout the facilities.
- Must be able to view information on a computer monitor and CCTV screen.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
