Overview
Join our team as a Senior Project Manager and support a federal transportation research center by leading a busy publications and communications program. You will oversee planning, staffing, and delivery of technical publications, marketing materials, and multimedia products from concept to final release, ensure on-time, on-budget performance across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Work Schedule and
Location:
Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET (core hours fall within a 6:00 a.m.
-6:00 p.m. ET window), with occasional in-person travel to Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center, McLean, VA (or Dept of Transportation HQ in Washington, DC), for meetings and coordination as needed. Some additional travel within the continental U.S. may be required for conferences and events.
- Lead end-to-end project management for a high-volume research communications and publications program
- Direct coordination with government stakeholders, technical representatives, and task managers
- Oversee production of materials ranging from one-page flyers to 300+ page technical reports, presentations, and video/social content
- Manage staffing, scheduling, budget, risk, and performance metrics across multiple concurrent projects
- Ensure staff maintain accurate, up-to-date project tracking and status reporting
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team of writers, editors, designers, and multimedia specialists
- Drive continuous improvement in workflow, quality control, and delivery timeliness
Required:
- Master's degree, OR Bachelor's degree with relevant experience, in Business, Marketing/Communications, or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams and management of marketing/communications programs
- Demonstrated experience supervising publication of technical information across a wide range of formats and lengths
Desired:
- Experience in the highway or surface transportation sector
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Prior experience managing a Federal government contract or task order
