What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking an R&D Senior Manager to lead the Nuclear Deterrence Realization and Sustainment Group (2230). In this role, you will provide visionary leadership and management across seven key areas within the Nuclear Deterrence Mission:
Military Liaison, Aircraft Compatibility, Tonopah Test Range, Legacy Hardware Lab, Accident Response Group, Configuration Management, and Product Information Management.
Our focus is on delivering with excellence, ensuring on-time, safe, and secure delivery of all services and products that support the stockpile modernization and sustainment programs. At the same time, you will drive modernization of the technologies, capabilities, and processes that underpin successful delivery. Group 2230 maintains vital partnerships with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), organizations across the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE), and the Department of War (DoW).
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Lead managers and staff across multiple technical domains to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Sandia products and services to diverse programs, while navigating complex challenges and constraints.
Collaborate closely with peers across the Labs and the broader NSE, including design agencies, production agencies, and NNSA field and production offices
¿ to anticipate, prioritize, and resolve current and future product realization and sustainment challenges. Additionally, cultivate and maintain strong external partnerships with key stakeholders such as the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and Sandia Field Office.
Demonstrate deep understanding of the integrated Group 2230 portfolio and its mission value, develop staff expertise to meet evolving mission requirements, and continuously enhance organizational health and performance.
Serve as a role model by leading with integrity, building trust-based relationships, challenging the status quo, communicating effectively, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Champion the development and adoption of innovative methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and personnel to optimize work scope, schedules, budgets, and organizational objectives.
Guide the group's technical efforts and strategic direction in alignment with nuclear deterrence mission priorities and the strategic plans of the Center, Division, and Laboratory.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$193,000 - $328,200
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor's and advanced degree (MS and PhD) in relevant STEM field plus ten (10) years of directly relevant experience.
