The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. The Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team has signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas‑fired power generation facilities in the U.S. This project is of significant scale and complexity, and the team is helping the customer progress early‑stage development that will lead to full EPC delivery next year.

The Project Field Superintendent will support preconstruction planning from the home office in Reston, VA, before mobilizing to Cheyenne, WY for the long‑term assignment. The position is contingent upon project award.

The Project Field Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing craft operations for the project. The role involves direct contact and coordination with local trade unions and maintenance of those relationships. The superintendent will supervise craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others as assigned, ensure compliance with specifications and schedules, and manage subcontractor performance.

• Lead and supervise craft activities, fostering team development via competency assessments and feedback.
• Provide input and recommendations to the proposal team on project logistics, temporary infrastructure, and workflow management.
• Support the development of staffing requirements to establish an efficient construction phase profile.
• Ensure successful craft management is integrated into the site management strategy.
• Plan workforce requirements, prepare forecasts, and report on construction progress and expenditures.
• Monitor tool and equipment usage, prepare field material requisitions, and ensure crafts have necessary tools.
• Implement corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within operations.
• Monitor work activities and maintain quality standards.
• Develop and own the Construction Equipment Schedule and coordinate technical work with engineers, foremen, and craft professionals.
• Coordinate engineering solutions with subcontractors and craft professionals.
• Review and produce documentation to support proposal deliverables in collaboration with the construction representative and proposal team.

Requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) and 13–15 years of relevant experience, or 17–19 years of relevant work experience.

• Established performance as a Lead Discipline Superintendent, Area Field Superintendent, or Project Field Superintendent.
• In-depth knowledge of combined‑cycle power projects, having participated in at least 3 past projects.
• Clear communication skills for articulating challenges, risks, and improvement strategies.
• Experience managing US‑based direct‑hire projects.
• Knowledge of union‑based projects and execution.
• Understanding of execution risk points for combined‑cycle power projects.
• Willingness to implement strategies to improve project performance and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Direct experience in executing or managing multiple disciplines (Civil, Piping, Electrical, I&C, etc.).
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards for power plants (ASME Section I, ASME B31.1, ACI, NFPA 70E, etc.).
