The Strategy and Growth team spans Energy Policy and Procurement, Strategy and Innovation, Integrated Long-Term Planning, and the Commercial Growth Organization.

This role will sit within the Commercial Growth Organization and support our efforts to accelerate affordable load growth and deliver an end-to-end customer experience that earns the trust and enthusiastic endorsement of our customers.

Position Summary

We expect the Director, Speed to Power—Flexibility Solutions to accelerate speed to power for large load customers by unlocking capacity to bring forward in-service-dates by years. Building upon PG&E’s leadership across demand response, Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and storage, we intend to move quickly to scale the next generation of flexibility programs and prove utilities and customers can work together to deliver safe, dispatchable, reliable, local resources.

Success in this role will help PG&E compete and win new loads by reducing interconnection timelines, minimizing execution risk and keeping our commitment to deliver rate-reducing load growth for all our customers.

The Director will work cross-functionally to ensure that flexibility-based strategies are seamlessly integrated across planning, engineering, delivery and operations while maintaining a strong focus on customer outcomes and long-term grid resilience.

The Director will help design, commercialize, sell and scale flexibility programs that access diverse resources such as compute from data centers, EV charging load management EV, customer-sited storage and residential VPPs. Internal

This Director’s experiences and integral involvement with large-scale energy customers will be the critical inputs to develop solutions that are economically viable for customers and robust enough to meet stringent utility reliability standards.

The Director oversees, coordinates, and supports multifaceted projects to streamline approvals, interconnection processes, and ensure efficient project execution.
