The Assistant Director, Finance Operations is responsible for leading the organisation’s finance operations including Accounts Receivable, Billing, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Grant Administration. The role drives operational excellence, automation, process standardisation and strong financial controls to support organisational growth and finance transformation.
Key Responsibilities1. Finance Operations Leadership
- Lead end-to-end finance operations across billing, receivables, payables, general ledger, fixed assets and grants.
- Ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions.
- Establish service standards and operational KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes.
- Simplify and standardise workflows to improve efficiency and control.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digitisation.
- Lead implementation of finance transformation initiatives including ERP, workflow automation and RPA.
- Support future-state process design and operating model development.
- Champion adoption of new systems and technologies.
- Ensure strong internal controls across all finance operations.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Lead and develop finance managers and operational teams.
- Establish succession plans and staff development pathways.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor of Accountancy, Finance or equivalent.
- Minimum 12-15 years relevant experience.
- At least 5 years leading multiple finance functions and teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation, ERP implementation and process automation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of finance operating models, internal controls and process optimisation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
- Experience with ERP systems, workflow automation and RPA solutions preferred.
