The Virginia Department of Social Services, Office of Trauma and Resilience Policy is currently seeking a Workforce Resilience Program Supervisor. This position reports to the Director, Office of Trauma and Resilience Policy (OTRP) and provides statewide leadership and oversight for the Workforce Resilience Program, a new initiative designed to strengthen the well-being and resilience of Virginia's local social services workforce. The position is responsible for establishing and managing the program infrastructure, operations, and evaluation as the program is built from the ground up.

The supervisor's primary operational focus is the launch, administration, and continuous improvement of DSS Peer Connect, the statewide peer support line for local department of social services (LDSS) and VDSS employees. Responsibilities include supervising Peer Support Specialists, developing training curricula, establishing quality assurance standards, monitoring data, and ensuring DSS Peer Connect is widely known, trusted, and utilized across local departments of social services.

In addition, the position supports the phased development of Community Resilience Model (CRM) training and critical incident response activities, recognizing that these components will expand as funding becomes available. The supervisor collaborates closely with LDSS leadership, state partners, and internal VDSS divisions to ensure a responsive, trauma informed, and effective workforce support structure.

Minimum Qualifications

* Demonstrated supervisory experience, including coaching, performance management, and workflow oversight.

* Professional experience working in or with a local department of social services (LDSS).

* Experience managing programs in human services, behavioral health, child welfare, workforce wellness, trauma, or related fields.

* Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice, resilience strategies, and workforce well being.

* Knowledge of developing and facilitating/presenting training curricula, instructional materials, and/or staff development resources.

* Understanding of LDSS operations and the pressures facing the social services workforce.

* Skill in analyzing data, identifying trends, and preparing reports for leadership.

* Skill in trauma-informed communication and engagement.
