Pay range: $65,000 - $75,000

Department Information

Shared Advancement Services enhances the philanthropic success of our partnering UNC System institutions and affiliated entities through immersive collaboration, targeted education, and expert consultation which leads to improving operational efficiency and increasing the margin of excellence. SAS provides crucial support to participating System institutions in the areas of prospect research and management, philanthropic grant services, CRM data and reporting services, and gift planning services.

Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Occasional travel required to participating campus locations as needed during the year for on-campus special events and engagement opportunities as well as important network meetings and trainings.

Location

This position is a remote work arrangement with occasional on-site requirements at the UNC System Office in Raleigh and campus locations. Employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a reasonable commuting distance of the UNC System Office.

Position Summary

The Manager of Grant Services is responsible for establishing and building a Grant Services program within the UNC System Shared Advancement Services team. This role will design and implement systems, processes, and protocols to support the development, submission, tracking, and stewardship of private philanthropic grants for partner institutions, with a focus on foundation, corporate, and other charitable funding opportunities.

The manager will cultivate strong relationships with institutional leadership and Advancement team members to ensure alignment between funding opportunities and institutional priorities. The manager will serve as a centralized resource for private philanthropic grant development, supporting partner institutions in identifying, pursuing, and stewarding foundation and corporate funding opportunities aligned with institutional priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Development and Strategic Leadership (15% of time):
  • Design, launch, and manage a centralized Grant Services program serving a growing portfolio of partner institutions within the UNC System (beginning with three institutions).
  • Establish policies, procedures, and workflows for grant development, submission, tracking, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional partners.
  • Develop a strategic approach to identifying and pursuing funding opportunities aligned with institutional priorities.
