This position provides senior-level technical leadership and guidance in managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of extra-high-voltage transmission and substation projects or project portfolios. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of moderately sized to large, complex regional projects, including financial performance, technical execution, client satisfaction, quality, safety, and scheduling.

  • Coordinate and communicate with all levels of management and technical disciplines to support project cost and schedule objectives.
  • Manage project requirements within internal and client systems.
  • Lead the development of project proposals, cost estimates, scopes of work, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost controls, and change management.
  • Provide regular project reports and updates to clients, technical leads, and business leaders.
  • Identify emerging issues involving scope, risk, budget, or schedule and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships by understanding project needs, providing tailored solutions, and maintaining consistent communication.
  • Follow established processes and develop new procedures when needed to improve standardization.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and enforce project safety standards.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical judgment regarding company funds, resources, and professional conduct.
  • Perform additional responsibilities based on business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering; project management; construction management; engineering technology; physical sciences; or a related technical discipline.
  • Equivalent professional experience within an architecture, engineering, and construction firm; utility; EPC organization; or power-delivery consulting environment may be considered.
  • At least 10 years of relevant post-education experience in a project management role within the industry.
  • At least three years of EHV transmission project experience involving voltages from 115 kV through 500 kV.
  • Cradle-to-grave EPC project management experience involving transmission-level voltage projects.
  • Strong understanding of project-delivery processes and project management practices.
  • Experience managing projects through delivery models such as design-bid-build, engineering-procurement-construction, and progressive design-build.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect business objectives with project management requirements.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong self-leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to mid- and senior-level project team members.
  • Commitment to quality assurance and quality control requirements.
  • Advanced technical writing and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and work hours based on project-specific needs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with applicable health, safety, drug and alcohol, and anti-harassment policies.
