Under the direct supervision of the Housing Services (HS) Director, the Housing Services Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Housing Services Department, including supervision of department employees, HS administrative processes, supervisory and statistical reporting, and all aspects of the housing, information and referral programs.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:- Provide direction & supervision to HS supervisors and employees, prepare evaluations, provide training, coaching on necessary documentation and/or performance improvement plans to assist them in carrying out their assigned duties.
- Utilize staff and resources to meet the desired agency goals for the HS program.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of the HS program(s) and staff.
- Team with HELP's HS Director and Compliance Team to ensure that client files are audit ready and prepared for interval monitors by funders.
- Team with HELP's HS supervisors & Finance Team to ensure that HQS inspections are completed, and rents are submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensures that projects and department goals are met while adhering to approved budgets.
- Complete required program reports; meeting deadlines set by executive team and community funders.
- Participate in the hiring process of HS employees.
- Ensure timesheets are verified, vacation & sick leave approved and annual performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner
- Represent HELP at interagency meetings, and state and national HS affiliation conferences, for the purpose of networking and information collection.
- Produce and analyze client statistical data for dissemination to appropriate entities in the community.
- Provide information about HELP of Southern Nevada and its services to other organizations and groups.
- Work with HS Director to ensure new and existing grants and programs are complying.
- Conduct client assessments and case management, when needed.
- Special projects and other duties, as may be assigned.
- Supervisory skills, to include recruiting, interviewing, training and retention of employees.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to compile, generate and understand complex reports and procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people of all socio-economic and situational backgrounds.
- Ability to identify and understand clients' needs, and to provide the appropriate referrals.
- Must have the ability to oversee, implement and maintain program goals and objectives.
- This position will have the occasional ability to work from home as needed with Program Director approval.
Experience:
- Bachelor degree, or any combination of education and experience, with a background in Social Services, Management or Leadership.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Random drug screenings are performed.
- Must have a current NV driver's license and clean DMV record. Driver History Reports are required to be submitted on a quarterly basis.
Work is generally performed in an office environment, with some driving required. May be subject to sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling, and simple grasping.
