Remote Mine Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Remote Mine Project Manager to lead significant mining development and operational projects. This role offers the unique opportunity to manage complex mining initiatives from a distance, overseeing all phases from conception to completion. You will be responsible for defining project scope, managing budgets, coordinating cross-functional remote teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within specifications.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to navigate the complexities of the mining industry in a fully remote capacity, driving success for globally dispersed operations.

• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Lead and motivate virtual project teams comprised of geologists, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the execution of mining projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
• Regularly communicate project status, progress, and key decisions to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure effective contract management and vendor coordination for project success.

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or PMP certification is a strong asset.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management within the mining sector , with a significant portion managing complex projects.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale mining projects on time and within budget.
• Experience managing remote teams and working in a virtual collaboration environment.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of mining processes, technologies, and regulatory frameworks.
