Purpose The Sickle Cell Community Liaison Leader is a first-line people manager for a team of patient-facing employees responsible for coaching and leading Community Liaisons to engage and educate patients and caregivers, advocacy organizations, and specialty pharmacy representatives. Executes patient engagement strategies for the Sickle Cell community in collaboration with marketing, sales, medical, patient support, and market access.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Lead through change; role model integrity and humility
  • Attract, develop, coach diverse high-performing teams
  • Set direction and develop/execute strategic business plan and local territory plans
  • Apply an Account Mindset; coordinate plan execution
  • Build relationships with key community members and community-based organization leadership
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with home office partners; provide insights for community engagement, market analysis, and product launch preparation
  • Partner with Government Affairs on advocacy strategy and community engagement
  • Map the Sickle Cell Disorders care model to inform community engagement and brand strategy
  • Coach/develop Community Liaisons (EDGE model, competency guide/success profiles) to deliver education and drive patient-driven demand (once available)
  • Oversee key customer relationships (patient chapters, specialty pharmacy, advocacy organizations)
  • Evaluate performance vs. KPIs/strategic objectives; manage retention and underperformance
  • Ensure legal/privacy/compliance risk understanding and adherence; monitor policy and expense compliance; review/audit expense reports
Physical Requirements
  • 50–75% overnight travel (evenings/weekends); valid driver’s license; maintain motor vehicle record points threshold
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree and/or PharmD required
  • 6+ years progressive pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or community engagement leadership required
  • 2 years management experience preferred
  • 2 years experience in Hemophilia or Rare Bleeding Disorders preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication (written/oral), relationship-building, and ability to analyze business and build strategies
  • Passion for patient and community organization engagement
