Juvenile Probation Counselor Supervisor

King County Superior Court is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Juvenile Probation Counselor Supervisor. The Court is Washington state's largest general jurisdiction trial court, handling civil matters, domestic matters, felony criminal cases, juvenile matters, and appeals from courts of limited jurisdiction. Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, King County Superior Court is nationally recognized for innovation. The court's mission is to equitably serve the diverse public by administering justice through accessible, inclusive, and unbiased forums for the fair, understandable, and timely resolution of legal matters.

This position is responsible for supervising, coordinating and guiding professional and support staff in providing a variety of probation services to troubled juveniles and their families. The incumbent will play a critical role in Superior Court's ability to serve the community. It is the vision of King County Superior Court (KCSC) to be open to all, trusted by all, and to provide justice for all.

This position is located at 451 SW 10th Street, Suite 200, Renton, WA 98057. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of onsite and remote work. Employees must reside in Washington State and within reasonable distance of their King County Superior Court worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

This is a full-time position working a standard 40-hour workweek. The workweek is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please include a resume and letter of interest describing how you meet or exceed the requirements for this position. The following duties are not intended to represent the entire functional capacity of the position at the task level.

  • Supervise professional counselors as well as support staff.
  • Supervise, review, evaluate and coordinate daily operations such as caseload management, electronic social files and computer systems.
  • Lead and participate in organization change, including development and implementation of new processes and collaboration in support of innovative efforts.
  • Act as resource to assist counselors with complex cases.
  • Serve as Quality Assurance Specialist for Positive Achievement Change Tool (PACT) and Case Management Assessment Process (CMAP).
  • Develop and oversee procedures to ensure effective unit operations.
  • Coordinate and monitor treatment contracts.
  • Maintain liaison with courts, law enforcement, schools and community agencies.
  • Provide orientation, training and evaluate lower-level staff.
  • Gather and analyze data and prepare complex correspondence and reports.
  • Provide input for departmental/divisional policy affecting program.
  • Develop and supervise special projects.
  • Participate in Juvenile Probation Supervisors meetings.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in human or social services, social work, psychology or a closely related field and four years' experience in counseling, casework planning, and providing social services for juvenile offenders. A master's degree in social…
