About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Drilling Operations Manager to oversee their drilling campaigns in the Western Cape region. This hybrid role requires a balance of on-site supervision and remote strategic planning. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of all drilling operations, ensuring adherence to stringent safety standards and environmental regulations. This is a critical leadership position that demands extensive experience in rig management, personnel supervision, and operational planning, contributing significantly to the company's exploration and production objectives in the area.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and supervise all aspects of drilling operations , including rig site activities and personnel.
- Develop and implement detailed drilling programs and execution plans, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Monitor drilling performance, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies promptly.
- Oversee the maintenance and readiness of drilling equipment and assets.
- Manage drilling budgets, control operational costs, and ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in oil and gas drilling operations , with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Demonstrated expertise in various drilling techniques, equipment, and associated technologies.
- Strong knowledge of HSE management systems and best practices in the industry.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct field personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ability to travel to rig sites as needed while effectively managing operations remotely.
