POSITION SUMMARY This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Child Care Director leads all aspects of the organization's child care department, ensuring our mission and culture are embedded in our strategy and staff development. The Child Care Director provides strategic vision, operational leadership, and team management for the department, taking full accountability for program excellence and staff growth PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Drive strategic expansion and growth of child care programs, adapting offerings to meet emerging community needs and market trends.
* Recruit, mentor, and empower staff, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, professional growth, and safety.
* Proactively resolve operational challenges, streamline processes, and maintain rigorous compliance and safety standards across all programs.
* Manage and optimize the department budget, ensuring sustainable fiscal health and efficient resource allocation.
* Build community partnerships to expand the YMCA’s impact.
* Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
* Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
* Leadership experience managing people, growth, and operations is strongly preferred.
* CPR and First Aid certification is required within 60 days of hire. (Provided by YMCA)
* Proficient computer skills.
* Ability to lead, supervise, and be a team player.
* Organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS
* Ability to move throughout facilities and outdoor environments.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
