Senior Program Manager
Reports to: Director of Strategic Priorities & Programs

The Senior Program Manager will coordinate and manage initiatives and programs and projects that support STFM strategic priorities, with primary responsibility for the Family Medicine AI Centers of Excellence initiative and the development and launch of a new Medical Director Faculty Development Fellowship.
The position reports directly to the Director of Strategic Priorities & Programs and works closely with a Senior Project Manager, other STFM staff, physician and faculty leaders, and external partners. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating timelines, deliverables, meetings, communications, and other activities necessary to move assigned programs from planning through implementation.
The Society's headquarters is located in Leawood, Kansas. Kansas City-area employees work a hybrid schedule, with Mondays and Tuesdays in the office and the remainder of the week remote. The organization will consider 100% remote work for candidates residing outside the Kansas City area. Regular travel will be required to support STFM conferences, fellowship workshops,task force and work group meetings,initiative summits and gatherings, and other program-related activities.
Job DutiesThe main responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
AI Centers of Excellence and Program Management- Coordinates STFM's management and program support for the Family Medicine AI Centers of Excellence initiative as it transitions into a new independent nonprofit organization, the Institute for Excellence in AI and Human Health.
- Works closely with organizational leadership, participating faculty, Stanford University partners, and other stakeholders to coordinate activities associated with the initiative and its related programs.
- Manages timelines, meetings, communications, application and recognition processes, peer learning activities, convenings, and other operational elements of the AI Centers of Excellence initiative program.
- Leads Supports development of administrative processes, program resources, participant communications, and systems needed to support the initiative organization and its activities.
- Coordinates work across STFM departments and external partners to ensure assigned projects and deliverables remain organized and on schedule.
- Collaborates Work with STFM’sour Chief of Strategy and Innovation and the fellowship faculty to develop and launch the new STFM Medical Director Faculty Development Fellowship, scheduled to begin in 2027. After year 1, the senior program manager will be the lead staff for this fellowship.
- Provides project management and staff support to fellowship faculty and the Medical Director Leaders Work Group.
- Coordinates curriculum development, meetings, educational activities, participant communications, online learning components, and other elements of the fellowship.
- Works with STFM staff responsible for conferences, online education, continuing education, communications, and other areas to support successful implementation of the program.
- Supports ongoing administration, reporting, evaluation, and improvement of the fellowship following launch.
- Works collaboratively with the Director of Strategic Priorities & Programs and Senior Project Manager on strategic initiatives and assigned projects.
- Coordinates meetings, prepares agendas and materials, tracks decisions and action items, and maintains project plans and documentation.
- Researches and supports development of new programs and initiatives as assigned.
- Works with staff, faculty, and subject matter experts to develop program content, communications, reports, presentations, and other resources.
- Tracks program participation, progress, and outcomes and assists with evaluation and continuous improvement of assigned initiatives.
