Safe Quality Food Specialist; Day Shift

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain forms, registers, and standard operating procedures for food safety and quality programs that comply with the SQF program and other food safety & quality requirements.
• Develop reports and measurement tools that demonstrate compliance to food safety and quality programs.
• Disseminate information to plant partners and leadership to demonstrate compliance and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare for audits and meet all audit requirements including SQF, internal, customer, regulatory, and claims (Organic, Kosher, Halal, Gluten Free, etc.).
• Play a key coordination role in SQF certification audits.
• Monitor and coordinate control of food safety and quality documents.
• Train leaders and hourly partners on food safety and quality programs and policies.
• Help define and implement change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and monitor plant partner training registers and documentation.
• Verify document control and system conformance.
• Monitor corrective action and preventative action processes.
• Maintain alignment of plant food safety and quality processes to Home Office programs.
• Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as directed by the Quality Assurance Team Leader.
• Work flexible overtime and shift changes as needed.
• Travel for training may be required.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, housekeeping, safety guidelines, PPE, OSHA requirements.
• Perform all food safety and quality checks required for position.
• Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages.

• High school diploma or GED; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing and/or demonstrated leadership qualities.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Willingness and ability to become PCQI and SQF practitioner certified.
• Driven, self‑motivated and goal oriented.
• Willing to perform duties assigned and manage multiple priorities.
• Dependable with good attendance.
• Adaptable.
• Good communication, writing, and computer skills; ability to develop strong team skills and influence others for results.
• Committed to the role for at least 2 years due to training investment.
