RoleResponsibilities
- Assist in execution of engineering and continuous improvement projects from planning through implementation.
- Build, modify, install, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and workstations.
- Assist with installation, startup, and validation of new manufacturing equipment.
- Fabricate or modify components as needed to support manufacturing improvements.
- Support manufacturing engineers with equipment upgrades, automation projects, and production launches.
- Perform equipment trials and document results.
- Assist with machine layouts, line improvements, and workstation optimization.
- Collect production data, perform time studies, and support root cause investigations.
- Develop and update work instructions, visual controls, and project documentation.
- Coordinate project activities with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and outside vendors.
- Support safety improvements, ergonomic projects, and 6S initiatives.
- Maintain project schedules and communicate progress to the Engineering Manager.
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical training, trade school, military technical experience, or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects while working independently
- Experience supporting manufacturing engineering or maintenance projects
- Welding, machining, fabrication, or mechanical assembly experience
- Experience with industrial automation equipment
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- CAD experience
- 3D Modeling
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
- Lean Greenbelt
- Forklift and boom lift certification
