Your profile:

• High school diploma/GED and one to three months of related experience or training
• Basic math skills to measure weight, volume, and distance (add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10s and 100s)
• Can lift or move up to 50 lbs. (occasionally move up to 100 lbs.)
• Able to frequently stand and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
• Able to occasionally climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and hear
• Optional: can drive a fork truck for retrieval of raw materials (license would be required)

The General Laborer will assist in various physical tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the ability to work efficiently and safely. They will assist the team in a variety of functions including but not limited to trash removal, stacking, maintaining the work area, proper staging and removal of materials throughout the facility, assisting other skilled workers, cleaning, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned.

This position is vital to maintaining a safe, sanitary and organized environment that supports operations.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Trash, debris and waste removal from the plant.
• General housekeeping
• Ensures compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality and facility cleanliness
• Drum washing
• Operate floor scrubber
• Operate manual pallet jack and electric pallet stacker
• Operate drum crushers and cardboard baler machine
• Barrel washing
• Support recycling efforts by staging recyclable materials for takeaway
• Properly use water hoses and chemicals as required to clean and sanitize areas as designated
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work with chemicals for drum washing

Food safety responsibilities:

• Producing products free of contamination
• Following all Ken's Foods Security and GMP policies
• Reporting any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
• Inspection of work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis
