Materials Management Associate Printing Plant - Eagan, Minnesota Job Description

We are hiring a Materials Management Associate for our printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. As a Materials Management Associate, you will be responsible for performing set-up tasks, monitoring the equipment, and troubleshooting on our Core Publishing Solutions team. For this role, you would also be eligible for a bonus of $2,500 upon being in the role for 90 days.

3rd shift - 10:30 pm - 6:30 am

Occasional overtime up to 4 hours per day and occasional weekend shifts

• Reviewing job specifications for material and set-up requirements
• Performing set-up tasks
• Monitoring the equipment and product quality; obtaining maintenance support for equipment as needed
• Performing simple to moderately complex troubleshooting related to product or equipment
• Communicating effectively during shift and at shift hand-off
• Evaluating mechanical condition of equipment, completing preventative maintenance
• Using computer-based workflow applications to manage files
• Accurately documenting activities on Tier Boards and in relevant systems (MII, SAP), including material usage and equipment issues
• Performing feeding, catching off, stacking, bundling, or physical inventory cycle count activities
• Actively participating in company safety programs and contributing to a safe culture
• Meeting or exceeding established quality and productivity standards utilizing standard work procedures
• Generating, implementing, and sustaining continuous improvement ideas
• Participating in project teams as needed
• Providing backup for other operators to cover absences or breaks
• Recommending and implementing process improvements

• High School Diploma/GED or higher
• Good mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and work independently and as part of a team to resolve issues
• Knowledge of Lean concepts and continuous improvement
• Competent with rulers and measurement
• Good communication skills
• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders
• Can regularly lift at least 5 lbs above the shoulder, and push, pull, and lift at least 10 lbs occasionally up to 50 lbs
• Can regularly stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach, and kneel
• Can wear Personal Protective Equipment including steel toe shoes and ear protection

• Vocational or technical degree
• Experience on Perfect Binders with up to 40 station collators, 3-knife trimmers, inline boxing, and palletizing
• Experience with hard-cover casing-in lines
• Experience with collating/kitting lines with up to 30 streamfeeder stations
• Experience with packaging/cartooning lines
• Experience with Sitma mail lines
• Experience with Aster sewing equipment
• Experience with hot foil stampers

• Compensation: 2nd shift differential of $4.00 per hour, 3rd shift differential of $5.00 per hour, and a bonus plan.
