Systems Engineer
The Lead Engineer, Supply Chain Technology (Transportation & Logistics) provides technical leadership, solution design, delivery oversight, and operational ownership for enterprise systems supporting transportation and logistics operations across a North American supply chain network.

This role serves as a technical leader across Transportation Management Systems (TMS), carrier and third-party logistics (3PL) integrations, freight visibility platforms, EDI and API connectivity, and transportation optimization solutions. The Lead Engineer partners with business stakeholders, product teams, architecture, and engineering groups to deliver scalable, reliable technology solutions while ensuring the stability and continuous improvement of business-critical applications.
Lead the design, development, integration, and support of enterprise transportation and logistics applications and platforms. Establish technical direction, reusable design patterns, and engineering standards for transportation systems and integrations. Serve as the technical subject matter expert for assigned solutions, facilitating design reviews and guiding complex technical decisions. Mentor engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, design guidance, code reviews, and hands‑on development, fostering accountability, quality, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Transportation& Logistics Solutions
Partner with business stakeholders to improve carrier management, routing, shipment planning, freight execution, shipment tracking and visibility, transportation cost management, reverse logistics, and return-to-vendor processes. Support domestic transportation operations spanning distribution centers, retail locations, eCommerce fulfillment, transportation carriers, and third‑party logistics providers. Translate business requirements and operational challenges into scalable, resilient, and maintainable technical solutions. Assess existing transportation technologies and application environments to identify opportunities for modernization, automation, process optimization, and cost reduction.
EngineeringDelivery & Execution
Lead cross‑functional technical initiatives from discovery and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and stabilization, maintaining clear milestones and proactively managing risks. Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, refine requirements, prioritize work, manage dependencies, align on outcomes, and communicate delivery risks and commitments. Coordinate execution across internal engineering teams, external vendors, consultants, and geographically distributed delivery partners.
Own assigned initiatives from intake through operational handoff, including scope definition, planning, issue resolution, status reporting, escalation, documentation, and deployment readiness. Promote Agile delivery practices, Dev Ops, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, observability, and disciplined release management.
Improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of transportation management, freight execution, carrier integrations, shipment visibility, and related systems. Ensure effective monitoring, incident response, root‑cause analysis, corrective action, and prevention of recurring production issues. Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, architecture documentation, and operational support materials to facilitate knowledge transfer, smooth transitions, and ongoing system stability.
