The Content Strategist is a crucial, client‑facing role that is responsible for day‑to‑day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating both with clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist is responsible for more enterprise clients and is expected to have a deep understanding of their service line and how it impacts other areas of business to create a holistic marketing strategy.

Internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO.

• Strategic Excellence and Best Practices:
  Craft custom strategies and implement best practices that ultimately result in achieving client NSMs. Use project phases as a foundational moment, as well as overall marketing goals, current & ongoing campaigns, and historical performance to optimize and revise strategies over the lifetime of the client while adhering to Directive best practices. Collaborate with Associate Directors (AsD) on roadblocks.
• Craft creative briefs and compelling content campaigns focused on ideation based on competitor and audience insights. Use best practices such as LTV:
  
  CAC modelling, Customer Generation, share of SERP, and content production to inform strategies.
• Goal Setting:
  Use data (Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush reporting, Ahrefs reporting) to set goals for clients during their engagement period. All goals must be approved by the AsD before the strategist presents them to clients.
• Project Management:
  Ensure planned strategy is executed. Use Asana to delegate tasks to team members, clients, and ensuring tasks are completed timely. In pods where Project Managers are present, partner to meet due dates and communicate with clients. Work closely with content writers and designers to complete campaigns on time and meet quality standards.
• Internal and External Communication:
  Serve as the main interface between clients and our team. Build relationships with clients beyond deliverables. Proactively communicate timelines, progress, and use communication channels such as Slack between bi‑weekly meetings.
• Reporting:
  Regular reporting to clients on progress and impact. Cadence includes bi‑weekly meetings (NSM progress & ongoing deliverables), monthly reports, quarterly reports, and bi‑annual business review presentations.
• Upsells/Cross‑Sells/Referrals:
  Look for opportunities for clients to grow their business with Directive. Identify opportunities in new service lines or increased budgets. Seek referrals at key moments such as when a point of contact starts a new job.

• Proven track record in implementing SEO principles and content strategy (keyword research, on‑page optimization, link building).
• Analytical insight: ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics using Google Analytics.
• Strong communication skills: comfortable client‑facing and owning stakeholder relationships.
• Familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.
• Organizational, project, and time management skills.
• Enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content.
• Agency experience.
• B2B tech and/or SaaS experience.

• Client CSAT 5 score requirement (for client exits).
