About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Social Media Manager who thrives at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and hands-on execution. You'll partner closely with our Senior Director of Creative Strategy and Marketing on big-picture brand storytelling, then own the day-to-day strategy, content creation, publishing, and performance of our social channels. You're equal parts strategic thinker and maker—someone who can develop a multi-platform content strategy, write compelling copy, concept native content, edit quick-turn videos, and analyze what's working in real time.

This role is designed for someone ready to grow into a director-level position. You'll have autonomy, creativity, and the opportunity to shape how Joy 101 shows up online.

Reports to: Senior Director of Creative Strategy and Marketing

Location: United States, remote, New York City preferred

What You’ll Own
  • Strategy & Growth
    • Drive strategy and performance across Facebook, Facebook Group, Instagram, Tik Tok, Pinterest, and You Tube
    • Grow engaged, loyal communities that reflect Joy 101's values and resonate with women aged 25-65
    • Identify platform-specific opportunities and adapt quickly to algorithm changes and cultural moments
  • Content Creation & Publishing
    • Own the social content calendar end-to-end: ideation, planning, creation, scheduling, and publishing across all platforms
    • Create platform-native content optimized for each channel
    • Write on-brand copy that feels warm, human, and unmistakably Joy 101 across captions, Stories, and video scripts
    • Produce quick-turn video content using mobile editing tools (Cap Cut, Instagram native editing, etc.)
    • Design simple social assets using Canva or similar tools when needed
    • Craft and refine Joy 101's brand voice across all social touchpoints
  • Community Engagement
    • Build authentic connections with our audience through thoughtful responses and community management
    • Foster conversations that deepen loyalty and create emotional resonance
    • Monitor sentiment and surface insights that inform content strategy
  • Analytics & Optimization
    • Produce weekly and monthly performance reports with actionable insights
    • Identify trends, test new formats, and use data to inform smarter content decisions
    • Run weekly performance check-ins and pivot quickly based on what's working
  • Collaboration
    • Partner with the paid media team on boosted content and creative recommendations
    • Work with practitioners, talent, and internal teams to develop content that showcases expertise
    • Coordinate event coverage, including occasional out-of-hours posting for launches, retreats, and brand moments
    • As the function grows, own influencer strategy, relationship building, and campaign execution.
What You Bring
  • 5–7 years of social media experience
    , ideally in wellness, lifestyle, or consumer brands with strong female audiences
  • Proven track record growing social channels strategically and understanding platform-specific best practices (especially Facebook Groups, Pinterest, and You Tube)
  • Strong content creation skills

    You can shoot, edit, and post video content quickly using mobile tools
  • Exceptional copywriting ability

    You write compelling, on-brand copy that drives engagement and feels distinctly human
  • Design sensibility
