The University of Montana Foundation is seeking a Marketing and Communications professional to join our team in a Digital Content Strategy and Engagement role at either the Manager or Assistant Director level
, depending on experience and qualifications.

The position outlines the Manager level requirements; individuals with a more advanced background in digital marketing, communications and analytics across channels may be considered for the Assistant Director level.

About the Opportunity The Digital Content Strategy and Engagement Manager serves in the Marketing and Communications (“Mar Com”) Division, with primary responsibility for digital content and engagement strategies and execution across the UM Foundation’s digital communications platforms. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, this position drives the planning, development and optimization of integrated, audience-focused digital content that supports institutional priorities resulting in engagement among donors and other key constituents of the Foundation.

This role blends strategic thinking and dynamic content development and activation to strengthen the Foundation’s digital brand presence, elevate fundraising campaigns, and deepen relationships with supporters.

With expertise in digital marketing and communications strategy, including active knowledge of channel platform functionality, analytics and emerging best practices, the Digital Content Strategy and Engagement Manager oversees the Foundation’s digital content calendar, manages web and email communications, and ensures consistency, quality and alignment across all marketing channels. The Manager leads the Mar Com Division’s analytics reporting and is active in using data to inform decisions related to these functional areas to optimize performance.

This role collaborates with a wide range of Foundation and campus colleagues and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use content management tools and technology to drive automation and develop and implement a comprehensive digital content strategy that advances fundraising priorities and enhances donor engagement across multiple channels.
  • Oversee our digital ecosystem – including websites, email marketing, social media channels and campaign microsites – and optimize information architecture, UX and storytelling flow to support donor conversion.
  • Track digital engagement KPIs, donor conversion metrics, and audience behavior and use data to refine messaging, test content formats and optimize user experience across platforms.
