Overview

Position: Brand & Design Manager

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Marketing Director

Classification: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt

Compensation: $30.21 per hour

Grade: 24

Position Summary

The Brand & Design Manager plays a key role on the Marketing team, providing thought leadership to the marketing, education, and development departments. The position develops visual strategy across the organization for sales, fundraising, and storytelling, and creates key visuals and branding for priority, high-level projects.

Seattle Children's Theatre (SCT) has served more than 4 million children since its founding in 1975 through professional theatre and arts education in the Puget Sound region and beyond. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Marketing Director to understand and execute visual strategy for single-ticket campaigns, fundraising initiatives, SCT’s Drama School, and experience design, ensuring brand integrity across all creative outputs
  • Lead brand identity across all channels, ensuring visual consistency and high-quality execution
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce brand guidelines to ensure consistent application across teams and external partners
  • Create branding and key visuals for priority, larger-scale marketing projects such as season launch, fundraising events, drama school campaigns, etc. Assists with general design work during periods of low capacity
  • Manage and maintain all brand assets and asset libraries, including photo and video, across storage platforms (e.g., Canva, SharePoint, Smugmug)
  • Work with the Associate Director of Marketing Operations to track design projects and needs, collaborating with internal stakeholders to align scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Manage and mentor the Social Media and Graphic Design Specialist, providing clear creative direction, preparedness (copy, sizing, strategy), and on-time delivery

Qualifying Skills

Required

Skills
  • At least 4 years of graphic design experience
  • At least 3 years of brand management experience
  • Demonstrable interest in theatre and SCT’s mission
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects at once
  • Ability to translate ideas into a unique visual strategy
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Expert-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite
Preferred Skills & Nice-to-Haves
  • Brand design experience preferred
  • Experience in non-profit or arts organizations is a plus
  • Experience in Canva is a plus

This position is based at 201 Thomas St, Seattle, WA, in a typical office setting. The work requires on-site presence with occasional evenings and weekends. The site is accessible via public transportation. After a successful 90-day introductory period, this position becomes eligible for one regularly scheduled remote workday per week.
