Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce seeks a highly motivated and creative Marketing & Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for supporting Greater Rochester Chamber’s marketing and communications goals to help reinforce our organization’s role as a hub for community connection and business growth, with a specific focus on talent, career, and workforce-related offerings.

Essential Job Functions
  • Design social and visual assets that align with Greater Rochester Chamber’s brand identity and strategy
  • Develop and manage social media calendar to promote/recap Chamber events
  • Develop and manage social media to promote and convert customers for Greater Rochester Chamber’s business lines, Beyond Talent Edge and Authentica
  • Develop and manage social media for Greater Rochester Chamber’s Campus

    ROC program
  • Support email marketing efforts for Chamber newsletters and dedicated digital communication campaigns
  • Create engaging short‑form video content for Greater Rochester Chamber’s social channels
  • Assist with the chamber Member Advertising program, including customer service, creative input, and email marketing management
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in marketing, communications, design, or related field.
  • At least 1‑2 years of experience in marketing or communications role.
  • Relevant social media experience (Linked In, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, Snapchat, etc.), including paid strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other industry‑leading technologies.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to drive/travel for events and meetings.
  • Knowledge of community and volunteer resources.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient in multi‑tasking and available to work non‑traditional hours.
  • Ability to discover and master new digital tools to drive the organization forward.
Additional Notes
  • This is a full‑time, non‑exempt hourly position scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week.
  • Position may require some early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours to attend community and talent strategy events. Travel is required approximately 15‑20% of the time in the Rochester area, with mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Pay range: $25‑$35/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or pay rate. The compensation in the final offer will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience.

  • In‑office work is expected with occasional flexibility for remote work as well as attendance at a variety of events.
