Overview: NRECA is a unique national trade association providing advocacy, financial services and business support services to over 900 consumer‑owned electric cooperatives across the country. The Communications and Marketing Department serves as a central hub for shaping external, internal and member communications and marketing efforts. The team works closely with NRECA’s C‑suite and partners across the organization to tell the modern electric cooperative story, positively influence the perception of cooperatives with policymakers, elevate the organization’s brand and showcase the value of NRECA membership.

This position is eligible for NRECA’s hybrid schedule, allowing flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing plans for assigned products, services and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and broader marketing objectives.
  • Support product marketing efforts by defining value propositions, messaging frameworks and positioning that clearly communicate member benefits and differentiate offerings in the marketplace.
  • Create and manage integrated campaigns across email, digital, social, print and other channels to drive awareness, engagement and utilization.
  • Produce clear, compelling content—including email copy, social media posts, web content, promotional materials and event‑related collateral—leveraging AI tools to enhance messaging.
  • Assess and synthesize stakeholder requests to determine strategic relevance, audience fit and alignment with campaign goals; provide recommendations and redirects when needed to maintain scope.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders as a strategic partner, ensuring campaigns support product and program objectives and guiding teams toward the most effective marketing tactics.
  • Collaborate with creative services, communications, marketing ops and other internal partners to execute campaigns, refine messaging and ensure brand consistency.
  • Apply audience segmentation strategies to tailor messaging, value propositions and channel approaches for maximum relevance and impact.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics (web traffic, email engagement, participation rates, conversion data) and use insights to optimize future campaigns and inform product or service enhancements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • 5 or more years of marketing experience in a mid‑to‑large sized organization.
  • Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Experience applying audience segmentation and analytics to improve marketing performance.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in product marketing, event marketing or education marketing.
  • Experience working in a trade association.

Physical Requirements
  • Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and intensive computer use.
  • Occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force, frequent exertion up to 10 pounds of force, or negligible force for light work.
