Reporting to the Managing Partner and the Senior Marketing Director, the Marketing Communications Specialist plays a key role in advancing our marketing efforts (social media, website updates, blogs and press releases) to enhance brand awareness and drive business growth objectives. This position will also manage the administration of industry awards and participate in event coordination and other administrative activities related to marketing, in collaboration with other team members.
The role will also oversee day‑to‑day administration of the Company’s CRM.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and resourceful self‑starter who can collaborate effectively with various stakeholders with diverse working styles and manage multiple priorities to move projects forward. Strong business writing skills and a polished, client‑facing presence are essential. This is a full‑time, exempt position based in our downtown Chicago office.
Responsibilities- Develop and edit graphics, videos and copy for use on social media, blogs, and press releases.
- Ensure Company website content is current and update as needed.
- Manage Company social media calendar and postings.
- Coordinate event and conference scheduling in accordance with the master event schedule.
- Participate in coordinating Company events and client‑facing activities to enhance brand awareness and advance business growth objectives.
- Team with other staff on event‑related materials such as invitations, copy, signage, photos, advertisements, and other firm‑branded mediums.
- Research and manage industry award opportunities by preparing relevant applications, including the coordination of award ceremony invitations and press releases.
- Ensure adherence to the Company styles guide.
- Manage and maintain the Company’s CRM (Hub Spot).
- Perform general administrative duties in the office.
- Work on other projects assigned.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- A degree or certificate in Marketing, Business, Graphic Arts, or related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated business writing experience.
- Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats.
- Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite software strongly preferred.
- Experience in the financial services industry a plus.
- Experience using relevant social media platforms and applications (Facebook, Linked In, Instagram Reels, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong attention to detail and creativity, with a focus on design, brand consistency, copywriting and editing.
- Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and work independently in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, sometimes under deadline pressure.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills for dealings with both internal and external parties.
- Exhibit high energy, enthusiasm, positive attitude and poise; articulate and confident.
- Highly collaborative team player who enjoys working with others to achieve successful outcomes.
- Intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn about the turnaround and restructuring industry.

Talking and listening required for answering telephones and conversing personally with the public and staff. Manual dexterity required for accessing filing cabinets in various locations.
