Overview
Overview The CRM Strategist plays a critical role in shaping data-driven marketing programs that drive customer acquisition, loyalty, and retention. This position is responsible for defining CRM strategy and customer experiences while ensuring seamless activation across direct-to-consumer communication channels. Additionally, the role supports integration and alignment across addressable paid and owned marketing efforts to deliver cohesive, personalized customer journeys. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in marketing strategy, with hands-on experience developing, road-mapping, and activating innovative CRM programs.
They will contribute to annual CRM planning and lead the development of campaign plans that translate strategy into market execution. Success in this role requires comfort with ambiguity, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize insights from multiple business perspectives to identify opportunities and prioritize initiatives.
- CRM Program Development:
Lead cross-functional planning and execution of pre- and post-purchase CRM programs. - Client Partnership:
Build strong, collaborative relationships with client stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor. - Program Growth:
Identify and recommend opportunities for program expansion and performance improvement through proactive strategies and incremental proposals. - Creative Briefing:
Develop clear, insightful creative briefs that inspire impactful content and campaigns. - Thought Leadership:
Drive adoption of best practices and process improvements internally and with client teams. - Business Immersion:
Develop a deep understanding of the client’s category, competitive landscape, and unique business dynamics. - Consumer Insights:
Leverage first-party and third-party data, research, and analytics to uncover consumer behaviors and inform strategy. - Marketing Innovation:
Design and implement advanced CRM use cases leveraging data-driven personalization and optimization strategies.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly through presentations, storytelling, and written content.
- Expertise in synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights.
- Strong capability in developing marketing strategy frameworks, program roadmaps, and campaign plans.
- Proficiency in performance analysis, test design, and data-driven optimization across channels.
- Skilled at fostering collaboration and generating alignment among diverse stakeholders.
- Comfortable engaging independently with senior-level clients and navigating matrixed organizations.
- Ability to write compelling creative briefs and guide the creative process.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments with a high degree of ambiguity.
- 5+ years of experience developing B2C marketing programs and campaigns within an agency, consultancy, or marketing organization.
- Proven experience in CRM strategy and activation across owned channels (integration with paid and earned channels is a plus).
- Familiarity with consumer electronics or related industries.
- Track record of creating strategic deliverables such as personas, customer journeys, communication architectures, campaign plans, and personalization strategies.
- Strong background in insight development from diverse sources, including primary/secondary research, social listening, digital audits, and behavioral data.
