Unlimited, Full-time 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday – Friday) A flexible work schedule may be approved with up to two days remote work per week (if applicable)
** Salary Range**: Hourly from $29.25 to $42.94;
Annually from $61,074 to $89,659

**** THE POSITION AND THE DEPARTMENT
** The Visual Communications Specialist advances Normandale Community College’s marketing, enrollment, and reputation goals by
** developing, coordinating, and disseminating institutional information
** in a clear, accessible, and purposeful manner. The position exercises professional judgment in shaping messaging, advising on communication approaches, and ensuring information is effectively communicated to diverse audiences.
Serving as a communications resource to campus stakeholders, the position collaborates with leadership and subject‐matter experts to translate complex institutional programs and initiatives into clear, accurate, and engaging public‐facing information across print, digital, and multimedia platforms. The role supports cohesive institutional messaging, provides guidance on communication effectiveness and accessibility, and coordinates projects and resources that enhance public understanding and engagement with Normandale’s mission and priorities.
This position will actively advance the college’s strategic goals, including achieving equity in educational outcomes and supporting a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.
** YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
**** Minimum:** *(expected to have to enter job)
** Minimum of
** three (3) years of professional‐level experience
** in communications, marketing, graphic design, visual communications, or a closely related field, demonstrating the ability to independently develop and implement communication products or strategies.
* Education in a related field may substitute for required experience as follows:
Associate’s degree = 6 months, Bachelor’s degree = 1 year, Master’s degree = 18 months.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
* Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and visual composition.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
* Experience producing and coordinating print and digital materials such as posters, flyers, postcards, and signage
* Proven communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse campus partners.
