Job Description Marketing Manager – Startup Join an exciting startup from Day 0 and help shape the future from the ground up!
We are looking for a dynamic Marketing Manager to build and lead the marketing function across two innovative products—one serving the B2C market and the other focused on B2B customers. This is a unique opportunity to define the marketing strategy, establish the brand presence, drive customer acquisition, and create scalable growth initiatives from the very beginning.
Role Overview As the company’s marketing leader, you will be the marketing engine for both products. This is a hands-on role with both strategic and tactical components. Both products will require brand development, marketing strategy, and ongoing campaign creation, execution, and optimization. Demand generation, sales enablement, campaign optimization, content creation, and user acquisition (for the B2C business) will be key aspects of the role.
You will report to the President/Chief Revenue Officer but will work equally closely with the Product and Development leaders. The company expects to have a physical office in the Greater Toronto Area (west) but hybrid/remote work arrangements can be discussed. You will be based in the GTA.### Responsibilities
* Brand creation:
Develop company and product names, logos, taglines, colour schemes, brand templates, corporate merchandise, initial teaser campaigns, and digital presence for both businesses.
* Marketing strategy:
Develop marketing strategies, execution plans, and budget recommendations for both businesses.
* Content creation:
Teaser websites, blogs and social media content along with sales support material such as explainer videos, sales presentation material, demo scripts.
* Conferences and Events:
Identify relevant conferences and industry events, and manage the companies' participation and presence. Travel to events and attendance at events will be required.
* Content & SEO:
Drive organic growth by optimizing landing pages (SEO), writing blog posts, and managing social media content.
* Data & Analytics:
Track daily/weekly KPIs, A/B test ad creatives, and analyze user onboarding funnels to optimize conversion rates.
* Community Management:
Build and nurture online communities (e.g., Reddit, Discord, newsletters) to boost user retention and engagement (B2C business only).### Qualifications
* Experience:
3–5+ years of full-stack marketing experience leading digital marketing or growth marketing initiatives, ideally within a fast-moving tech environment. Prior startup experience is required. Experience across both B2C and B2B environments is preferred; however, candidates with particularly strong B2C growth marketing expertise will be given preference.
* Skills:
Hands-on proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, CRM platforms, email marketing software, and paid ad managers.
* Mindset:
Data-driven, collaborative, creative, and highly execution-oriented with a willingness to experiment quickly. Thrives in ambiguous environments and is comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy. Can manage a team of either internal or external service providers as needed.
* Growth & Experimentation:
Design, launch, and optimize growth initiatives across multiple channels, leveraging rapid experimentation and data-driven decision-making to drive customer acquisition and engagement.
