Opportunity
As Director, Seqirus Communications – US Commercial and Global R&D, you will hold a senior-level global leadership role accountable for strategic planning and execution of all external, leadership & employee communications, issues & crisis management, and other functional communications supporting CSL Seqirus Commercial Operations across North America. You will serve as the primary communications business partner and strategic counselor to the Heads of North America Commercial Operations & Global Head of R&D, and be accountable for all CSL Seqirus Federal/National media and issues management in North America, including pandemic related activity.
RoleLeads Commercial Communications Strategy for Vaccines Portfolio across North America and Global R&D. Develop and execute high-impact, fully integrated communications strategies and plans to drive outcomes for business partner priorities and CSL Seqirus reputation via US media engagement.

- Developing clear strategies and measurable execution plans
- Working with a matrix team for planning and execution
- Developing and delivering earned media and thought leadership placements
- Actively collaborating with senior communications leaders worldwide, especially with CSL Seqirus CEA and broader CSL CEA team members and the CEA Centers of Excellence, to focus and leverage as one integrated global CEA function.
- Hybrid role offers onsite and remote work schedule
- Managing all CSL Seqirus US national/federal media activities and coordinating with the International Pandemic Comms lead, the Holly Springs comms lead, and the R&D Vaccines Comms lead on media opportunities involving US federal/national stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining relationships with top-tier health journalists, media/comms leads of major federal institutions, professional societies, advocacy groups and influential spokespeople in collaboration with the US PAGA team
- Serving as the primary communications counselor to the North America Commercial Operations and Global R&D Leadership teams
- Actively participating in leadership teams, contributing to annual strategic planning, risk identification and mitigation, strategic positioning, and business decisions
- Leading issues & crisis management: proactively anticipating reputational risks, preparing mitigation strategies, maintaining a global centralized Issues Repository, serving as a primary spokesperson for US issues and potential crises, and designing and implementing a comprehensive issues and crisis communications framework with CEA and senior leadership
- Leading and supporting global Seqirus communications initiatives
- Supporting global Business Development communication initiatives
- Managing and optimizing existing resources and coordinating with the CSL Seqirus CEA team, Internal Engagement team and the Corporate Affairs team for consistent, high‑quality content
- Managing third‑party communications agencies, including agency selection and onboarding and ensuring brand integration reflective in agency‑supported communications
- Influencing others in a highly‑matrixed organization while fostering strong working relationships
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism or Business
- MBA or Masters in Communications (plus)
- 10+ years’ communications experience in product/corporate/media communications
- Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience preferred
- Press secretary experience highly desirable
- 7+ years’ experience directly managing media and issues
- Expert understanding of digital communications
- Experience managing communications teams within a global environment
- Demonstrated success working in a highly matrixed, global organization
Expected base salary range: $210,000 – $250,000. In addition to base salary, total compensation may include incentive compensation and equity.
