The Hachette Central Marketing Intern position at Hachette Book Group offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in the publishing industry to gain hands‑on experience in marketing. This internship is designed for those who want to learn about the lifecycle of a book and explore various aspects of marketing within the publishing sector, with a specific focus on our Raising Readers initiative.
The program runs from June to August and follows a 3‑day hybrid work schedule, allowing interns to work from home on Mondays and attend the Midtown NYC office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. A company laptop will be provided for the duration of the internship, and interns are expected to work 21–28 hours per week at a pay rate of $17 per hour.
This role will provide insight into various industry niches, allowing you to work closely with experienced professionals. Interns will be responsible for day‑to‑day tasks, assist with special projects, and participate in departmental meetings. The internship focuses on our Raising Readers initiative that launches this summer with a number of consumer and bookseller activations. Interns will assist in all Raising Readers summer activities, including influencer research and outreach, coordination with booksellers and other organizations, outreach to potential partners, social media coordination, and more.
