Summary
The Communications Consultant is responsible for activating and implementing strategic reputational and marketing communications digital content strategy and campaigns across enterprise digital channels such as the APS social media channels, website, blog, email, etc. This role will perform strategic content planning and reporting for social media channels. In addition to planning and reporting, the position will develop, produce, edit, schedule and deliver content for customers, while providing consultation to the business about effective communication tactics.
Work is performed with minimal direction with a strong team philosophy. While most of the work will be planned and scheduled, this role also has responsibility for emergent, unplanned communications in response to operational or customer needs, which may include a role in the company’s crisis communications/incident command structure as well as on‑call social media duty responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Communications or related field and five years related writing/editing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, software application skills including word processing and desktop publishing, and solid project management skills.
- Familiarity with Dynamics platform
- Experience in the utility industry and/or familiarity with APS customer programs and rate plans
Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person). In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in‑person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non‑home office) location.
Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners‑based employees).
Working from a home office requires adequate technology and an appropriate ergonomic set up.
