Director, Relationship Marketing Strategy; Remote, Continental U.S

Overview

Director, Relationship Marketing Strategy – remote candidates based in the continental United States. Merkle is a leading data‑driven, technology‑enabled performance marketing agency focused on delivering personalized customer experiences across platforms and devices. In this role you report to the Senior Director of Relationship Marketing Strategy and will join a team of experienced marketers to help clients achieve their business goals.

• Lead the building, development, and delivery of strategic omni‑channel marketing plans.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert, translating new technology – especially 1st‑party data marketing and CRM – into innovative marketing ideas for the client.
• Develop trusted, long‑term relationships with key client contacts and executives.
• Ensure meaningful client value is delivered through a mix of best‑practice solutions, skills, capabilities, and original thinking.
• Collaborate with account management, operations, creative, analytics and partner agencies to turn ideas into executable plans.
• Identify key data points and measurements to demonstrate impact on the client’s business.

• Bachelor’s Degree (required).
• Experience leading a team (required).
• 8+ years of experience in data‑driven marketing – specifically CRM, email, online/offline media.
• 5+ years working in an agency or consulting firm.
• Deep understanding of the customer lifecycle and how messaging strategy drives the experience.
• Hands‑on skills using data and research to drive decisions (proficiency in Excel and research tools).
• Strong writing, presentation and client‑facing communication skills.
• Experience translating data analysis into actionable marketing recommendations and presentations (proficiency in PowerPoint).
• Attention to detail and ability to incorporate feedback on an iterative basis.
• Superior multi‑tasking, networking, time‑management and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑starter with high intellectual curiosity, drive, determination, and persuasion skills.
• Comfort working within a matrixed organization with wide latitude.
• Average 20%–30% travel, contingent on client needs.
• Experience with Braze/SFMC (a plus).
