Role Description

This is a full‑time, hybrid Marketing Director role based in Silver Spring, MD, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. The Marketing Director will lead the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies that advance ADRA’s mission, strengthen brand awareness, and support fundraising and engagement goals. On a day‑to‑day basis, this role will oversee campaign planning, coordinate market research and audience insights, and manage the creation of digital and print marketing materials.

The Marketing Director will supervise a cross‑functional marketing team, collaborate closely with communications, programs, and fundraising teams, and manage external vendors and agencies as needed. This role will also monitor performance metrics, optimize campaigns based on data, and ensure consistent messaging and visual identity across all channels and markets.

Qualifications
  • Strong marketing leadership skills, including experience in Marketing and Marketing Management to guide strategy, teams, and cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Market Planning and Market Research to develop data‑informed campaigns, segment audiences, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Understanding of Sales principles to align marketing efforts with partner acquisition, donor engagement, and revenue goals.
  • Proven experience developing and executing multi‑channel campaigns (digital, social, email, events, and traditional media).
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret analytics, manage budgets, and report on marketing performance to senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex program work into compelling, audience‑centered messaging.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing diverse teams in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or equivalent experience in the nonprofit, humanitarian, or international development sector is an asset.
  • Commitment to ADRA’s mission and values, and comfort working with faith‑based stakeholders and global partners.
