The role requires a strong basketball content creator and social strategist who can attend games, create real-time content, and lead social storytelling across Basketball channels.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Social Creative Strategist to join Basketball's Global Digital Marketing team. This highly visible role will be responsible for developing and executing social-first content strategies that drive consumer engagement, cultural relevance, and brand storytelling across Basketball's digital ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for basketball, extensive experience creating content around live sporting events, and a strong background in social media strategy, creative direction, and content development. This individual will attend basketball games, identify real-time storytelling opportunities, and create compelling content that resonates with basketball consumers across social platforms.

Team Information
Global Digital Marketing Basketball
Partner closely with Brand Marketing, Creative, Sports Marketing, and Geo Teams
Attend basketball games and events to capture content opportunities
Support global social marketing initiatives across Basketball channels

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute 365-degree social marketing strategies for Basketball.
Create and oversee social-first content plans across digital and social platforms.
Attend basketball games and leverage live moments to create engaging content.
Lead creative direction and content storytelling initiatives for Basketball.
Develop compelling narratives that connect with basketball culture and consumers.
Create platform-specific content strategies for Instagram, X, and emerging social channels.
Collaborate with internal creative teams, marketing partners, athletes, and agencies.
Drive seasonal campaign execution and support major brand initiatives.
Analyze consumer engagement trends and optimize content performance.
Build presentations, strategic recommendations, and content roadmaps for leadership.

Required Qualifications
8 9+ years of experience in Social Media, Digital Marketing, Content Strategy, or Creative Direction.
Deep understanding and passion for basketball culture and the game.
Proven experience creating content around live sports events.
Strong creative direction, storytelling, and content writing skills.
Expertise across social platforms including Instagram, X, Tik Tok, and digital content ecosystems.
Experience developing content strategies for highly visible consumer brands.
Strong understanding of social trends, digital engagement, and audience behavior.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience working with sports, lifestyle, entertainment, or consumer brands.
Experience managing creative agencies, content creators, or production partners.
Familiarity with consumer insights, social analytics, and performance measurement.
