Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Subscriptions & Loyalty Program Manager to own and optimize our recurring revenue ecosystem. This role will be responsible for building, managing, and improving subscription programs, loyalty initiatives, retention strategies, and customer lifecycle experiences across our Shopify stores. You will work closely with marketing, customer support, and leadership to increase subscriber growth, retention, customer lifetime value, and recurring revenue.

the Role

This is not a general Shopify role. We are specifically looking for someone who has hands‑on experience building, managing, and scaling recurring revenue subscription programs within Shopify. You should understand the strategy, mechanics, customer psychology, retention levers, and operational workflows that drive successful subscription businesses. You will take ownership of our subscription and loyalty ecosystem, including program structure, customer journeys, retention initiatives, churn reduction efforts, rewards programs, and platform optimization.

Success in this role means creating a subscription experience that drives long‑term customer engagement, improves retention, and increases recurring revenue.

What You'll Do
  • Own and manage our Shopify subscription and loyalty programs from strategy through execution.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain recurring revenue programs using platforms such as Recharge, Skio, Rivo, or similar Shopify subscription and loyalty apps.
  • Analyze subscriber behavior, retention trends, churn drivers, and customer lifecycle performance.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve subscriber acquisition, retention, reactivation, and customer lifetime value.
  • Design subscription offers, incentives, rewards structures, and loyalty experiences that encourage long‑term customer engagement.
  • Create and optimize customer journeys, automated communications, and subscription touchpoints throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Monitor key subscription metrics and provide recommendations for improving recurring revenue performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to support subscription‑focused campaigns, promotions, launches, and retention initiatives.
  • Audit and improve existing subscription program logic, customer flows, and operational processes.
  • Identify testing opportunities and execute experiments that improve subscription conversion, retention, and engagement.
  • Manage ongoing platform configurations, integrations, and best practices related to subscription and loyalty programs.
Must‑Haves
  • Proven experience building and managing recurring revenue subscription programs on Shopify.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Shopify subscription and loyalty platforms such as Recharge, Skio, Rivo, or comparable tools.
  • Demonstrated success improving subscriber retention, reducing churn, and growing recurring revenue.
  • Deep understanding of subscription program strategy, customer lifecycle management, retention marketing, and loyalty mechanics.
  • Experience analyzing subscription performance metrics and translating data into actionable improvements.
  • Experience working in fast‑growing e‑commerce businesses.
  • Ability to independently own subscription program strategy and execution.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Experience working with consumer products, collectibles, hobby brands, or enthusiast communities.
  • Experience running subscription‑focused A/B tests and lifecycle experiments.
  • Familiarity with email and SMS retention platforms.
  • Experience integrating subscription programs with broader loyalty, referral, or membership initiatives.
