The Merchant Building is a 32‑story transformational mixed‑use development featuring a luxury hotel, private residences, and a members club, opening in 2027. Situated at the center of Columbus, the building rises within a city poised for extraordinary growth and renewed cultural vitality.
Key Responsibilities- Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue goals across rooms, food & beverage, events, and memberships.
- Identify, prospect, and convert new business opportunities across corporate, group, and leisure segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, travel partners, local businesses, and community organizations.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the sales, marketing, and membership teams to achieve individual and collective goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and creativity across all disciplines.
- Partner with food & beverage, operations, and guest experience teams to ensure seamless execution of promotions, events, and brand activations.
- Represent the property at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote visibility and partnerships.
- Lead all property marketing initiatives, including digital, print, social media, and public relations campaigns.
- Partner with the Makeready home office marketing team to ensure brand alignment, visual consistency, and storytelling that reflects the property’s unique character.
- Develop annual marketing plans and budgets in coordination with the Managing Director, Director of Finance, and Revenue Management.
- Oversee the creation of marketing collateral, email campaigns, photography, and content for digital and print channels.
- Monitor campaign effectiveness and ROI, using data to inform strategy and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee all aspects of the property’s membership program—including acquisition, engagement, programming, and retention.
- Develop strategies to grow the membership base through targeted outreach, events, partnerships, and digital marketing.
- Cultivate a vibrant member community through curated experiences, communications, and personalized service.
- Act as the liaison between members and property operations to ensure an exceptional and consistent member experience.
- Leverage membership insights to inform marketing, programming, and guest engagement strategies.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in hospitality sales and marketing leadership roles.
- Prior experience managing a membership program, private club, or loyalty‑based business is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of revenue generation, market share growth, and brand‑building success.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, digital marketing platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
