Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS (eligible for remote work within Texas)
PurposeThis position will lead the development of digital, editorial, and visual communications that advance the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing’s mission, translating complex ideas into clear, engaging content across web, social media, email, and other communication channels.
Responsibilities- Design and produce digital and print communications materials, including web content, social media assets, reports, presentations, one‑pagers, infographics, data visualizations, and promotional materials.
- Manage website content creation and maintenance through a content management system (CMS), ensuring accuracy, usability, and accessibility.
- Develop and implement metrics-informed editorial and content strategies. Write, edit, and publish high‑quality content for websites, newsletters, social media, and other digital platforms.
- Manage communications projects and initiatives from start to finish. Coordinate contributors, manage timelines, and prioritize competing requests.
- Develop and maintain project brand standards, accessibility guidelines, and communications best practices.
- Participate in institute functions, including trainings, supervision, staff meetings, events, and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or communications, marketing, journalism, design, or another related field with at least five years of experience creating content across web, social media, and email channels. Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable tools. Experience managing websites using a CMS and applying accessibility best practices, along with excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
Ability to independently lead projects, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Values the contributions of others in the workplace. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Experience working in the public sector on content related to child and family well‑being, with familiarity in basic web design, HTML/CSS, or UX principles. Experience mentoring or supervising staff or contributing to team leadership, along with an understanding of analytics and performance metrics to inform content decisions.
Salary Range$80,000
Working Conditions- May work around standard office conditions
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Ability to work remotely in the state of Texas
M-F, flexible between 8 am‑6 pm
