About the Role
We are looking for a self‑driven and strategic Director of Merchandising, who will be a key member of the leadership team driving IPSY into its next stage of growth!
You will focus on executing IPSY’s mission to inspire individuals around the world to express their unique beauty by developing, owning and executing our Merchandising strategy. You will also be tasked with developing and communicating a merchandising vision, monitoring the competitive landscape, working closely with our Consumer Insights team to conduct market research related to IPSY’s product assortments, and working closely with the Senior Directors of Brand Partnerships and Planning to delight our 1M+ members monthly.

- Be the internal authority on beauty trends and member preferences, synthesizing Consumer Insights data into forward‑looking assortment and sourcing decisions.
- Own the product narrative calendar in partnership with Marketing, driving alignment on trend storytelling, monthly themes, and Glam Bag design direction.
- Lead the Product Development team's merchandising strategy end‑to‑end, setting the vision, prioritizing the roadmap, and holding the team accountable to products that support our merchandising vision.
- Own the merchandising strategy for Beauty Boost and Add‑Ons, ensuring alignment with broader subscription goals.
- Identify new merchandise categories with a full point of view: market sizing, member relevance, sourcing approach and a phased recommendation for leadership.
- Set the standard for member‑facing product education in partnership with marketing, ensuring content across email, social and collateral is useful for our members.
- Build, develop, and hold a high bar for a team of merchants across sample and full‑size programs, coaching for both execution excellence and strategic thinking.
- Support the Mexico Glam Bag program in a strategic advisory capacity, applying domestic learnings to accelerate international performance.
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in business or merchandising‑related fields
- 10+ years of direct work experience in merchandising or buying
- 3+ years in a Director‑level role; beauty experience preferred
- Experience analyzing markets and trends, anticipating and finding opportunities and developing strategic insights
- Proactive self‑starter with excellent interpersonal and time‑management skills with impeccable attention to detail
- Flexible and comfortable with a fast‑paced, always‑changing environment with ability to problem‑solve in a fast‑paced setting
- Clear demonstration of internal cross‑functional partnership and collaboration
- Strong interpersonal/social skills; excellent presentation and written communication skills
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs
- Competitive base salary & bonus program
- 401(k) plan with company match
- Paid Time Off
