Location: Chapter-based (virtual role with Montana local chapter affiliation)
Reports To: Chapter Leadership
Schedule: No set schedule | A few hours per month
Time Commitment: A few hours per week
Opportunity DescriptionThe Marketing Specialist supports the Montana chapter’s marketing and communications efforts by managing both social media and email outreach. This role plays a key part in promoting workshops, events, and resources to ensure local small business owners stay informed and engaged.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, write, and post content across social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Linked In)
- Schedule and manage ongoing social media content calendars
- Develop and send email campaigns using tools such as Constant Contact and Gmail
- Create and manage workshop promotions, including registration pages, invitation emails, and reminder emails
- Draft and distribute emails & newsletters (weekly, monthly, and occasional special communications)
- Review and ensure the accuracy of all event and communication details before distribution
- Conduct analysis and research as needed to identify content for the weekly newsletter and review data to gauge communication effectiveness (e.g., click rates, open rates)
- Monitor engagement metrics (e.g., open rates, click rates, social engagement) and provide basic analysis
- Identify and recommend content for newsletters and campaigns based on chapter activities and audience needs
- Collaborate with chapter leadership on marketing initiatives and communication strategies
- Participate in occasional planning or coordination meetings as needed
- Experience with social media platforms and/or email marketing tools (Constant Contact preferred but not required)
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Basic analytical skills and comfort reviewing performance metrics
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Must be 18 years or older
- Complete SCORE volunteer onboarding and training
- Ability to dedicate a few hours per month
