Sr Communications Manager – Content Planning
Target, a Fortune 50 company, is looking for a Senior Communications Manager to manage content planning and execution within its Corporate Communications team in Olympia, USA. The role is full‑time, 8 hours per day, with compensation of $22 per hour.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the Corporate Communications Content team is on schedule and functioning efficiently.
- Maintain production schedules and establish processes to effectively track omnichannel content produced by editorial, creative, event and engagement teams.
- Maintain a comprehensive content calendar, working with content strategists, editorial, creative and VP leads to capture and monitor all planning, development and production work.
- Navigate content packs through the production process, ensuring team members are accountable for their parts of the pack (revisions, hotfixes, creative assets) and that deadlines are met effectively.
- Manage agency and contractor support for key departmental functions such as design and photography.
- Liaise with the platform lead to recommend and implement new digital platforms that streamline production and collaborate on content improvement processes such as SEO optimization.
- Help ensure error‑free editorial content by establishing an effective text editing process for content circulation.
- Set the team meeting schedule for your workflow, including weekly and monthly meetings.
- Support and collaborate with the Vice President and editorial, creative and event leaders on other special projects.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in professional communication.
- Excellent attention to detail, project management and time management skills.
- Former experience in process, project management, traffic or manufacturing environments.
- Highly organized and dynamic multitasker with a proven track record of managing multiple projects on time in a newsroom‑like environment.
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in a matrix environment.
- Familiarity with AP style/editorial best practices; excellent editing, grammar and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with popular and emerging social platforms.
This position may be considered for a remote or hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. Remote work is full‑time from home with occasional onsite requirements. Hybrid work involves a mix of virtual and onsite presence at a Target location.
